Re-lubrication of chains

About the term "re-lubrication"
Re-lubrication becomes necessary when the initial lubrication - or the maintenance lubrication applied so far - fails or is used up. In the case of chains, the initial lubrication is applied by the manufacturer and is usually an adhesive lubricant. What is the consequence?
The consequence
Dirt accumulates on the surface of the chain - and a so-called "dirt barrier" builds up. Oily lubricants bind dirt to the surface. The lubricants oxidise, resinify and stick together
When a new lubricant is applied, it can’t penetrate into the tightest gaps due to the above-mentioned dirt barrier. Furthermore, oil has no cleaning effect that will ensure that the surface to be lubricated and the points within the narrow spaces can be reached by the lubricant. In the case of chains, this means the inner bearings.
The use of lubricants containing solids is also problematic. For example, PTFE additives are always incorporated in oil. At first glance the lubrication performance is very good. However, the oil is consumed more quickly than the PTFE or other solid additives. This means that the solid globules remain on the lubricated surface, constantly build up and sooner or later lead to increased wear.
What needs to be done?
The conventional solution: for this purpose some companies recommend cleaning the lubricated surfaces from time to time in "two steps" by:
1. cleaning with "rapid degreasers"
2. re-lubrication (with oily agents).

The holistic solution with the innotech process: everybody (and not just at innotech) knows the important insight that “effective lubrication is always preceded by thorough cleaning."
In addition, successful re-lubrication must basically fulfil several criteria:
continuous and reliable cleaning of the lubrication area
• effective lubrication
• protection against deposits in the lubrication area

With the newly developed innotech tricomplex-Technology® and innofluid® additive technology, exactly these criteria for successful re-lubrication are fulfilled:
• continuous cleaning, lubrication and corrosion protection in “only" one operating step
• long-lasting lubrication thanks to innofluid® additive technology
smoothing of the lubricated surface.
a dry surface which therefore stays clean for longer!
Conclusion Ideal re-lubrication means continuous cleaning and lubrication with modern synthetic lubricants and all this in ONLY one operating step!
