Initial lubrication and re-lubrication of chains - optimised
Illustration: A transport chain in a cardboard packaging factory, before lubrication (left) and after lubrication (right).
The criteria for initial lubrication
• Initial lubrication is carried out by the manufacturer. The main focus here is on corrosion protection, as the chain may be stored for a long time before it is installed.
• Adhesive lubricants are generally used.
• Adhesive lubricants are generally used.
The consequences
• Such lubricants form a sticky lubricating film that also binds dirt and dust.
• They oxidise or resinify and the surface becomes sticky.
• This creates a dirt barrier.
• They oxidise or resinify and the surface becomes sticky.
• This creates a dirt barrier.
The problem
• Fresh lubricant is applied to the dirty surfaces.
• During re-lubrication the lubricant is not able to penetrate the chain’s inner bearings.
• The inner bearings remain without lubrication.
• The chain wears out.
• During re-lubrication the lubricant is not able to penetrate the chain’s inner bearings.
• The inner bearings remain without lubrication.
• The chain wears out.
The (possible) solution
• Start re-lubricating the chain as soon as it is put into operation!
• It is essential to clean the chain before each lubrication!
• It is essential to clean the chain before each lubrication!
The criteria for OPTIMAL re-lubrication
• Cleaning, lubricating and protecting in (only) one operation!
• A stable, long-lasting lubricating film!
• A dry surface which therefore stays clean for longer!

Not possible? Of course it is! With the newly developed innotech tricomplex-Technology® and innofluid® additive technology these criteria for successful re-lubrication are fulfilled in every respect.
